Personal Finance Lessons Learned from the Entertainment Industry

There’s no business like show business, right? There isn’t a single person in the world who isn’t at least a little intrigued by the dazzling stars of La La Land. However, even with millions in their bank accounts, celebrities, like all of us, experience financial problems. Considering that we follow them so passionately, one has to wonder if we can learn from them when it comes to personal finance.

To help us explore this topic, we contacted Anna Rosak, a digital specialist from Poland, who covers gaming and gambling topics, including kasyno online na pieniądze (or real money casinos, if you prefer in English). Anna Rosak, like most of us, indulges in celebrity culture, but she also believes there are some financial lessons to be learned: “On the one hand, you have celebrities living beyond their means, and on the other, celebrities They don’t really care about promoting a certain lifestyle. For example, Keanu Reeves is an A-lister, living like most of us. No yachts, no diamond rings, no gold spoons.” Since you are so familiar with this topic, we asked you to share some examples from which we can all learn about personal finance.

Kris Jenner and the family business

We all know everything about the Kardashians, even if we don’t want to. This family has been at the center of the celebrity world for over a decade, and love them or hate them, you have to admit how Kris Jenner, the “mom” of the family, knows how to get things done.

“Talk all you want about her, but the entire clan would be long gone if it wasn’t for her. She is a woman who runs the family business and she expects everyone to contribute. That is an important lesson to learn. Whether she is a stay-at-home mom or a senior manager, she should know that free lunch doesn’t exist,” says Anna.

In his opinion, in the case of family businesses, everyone has to contribute their time, knowledge, skills and do their part. While he understands that it can be difficult, it’s also the only way to stay afloat.

Michael Jordan and the dangers of the lifestyle

We were surprised when Anna mentioned this example, as she runs a site dedicated to online gambling. Still, she’s determined to support responsible gambling, which is why she brings up Jordan, who is famous for his problem gambling.

“It’s not just about betting. This guy was seduced by gaming, but you could try to pursue some other kind of lifestyle that you can’t afford,” warns Anna. If he can’t pay something up front, then he’s living beyond his means. Keep this approach in mind to spend money from him.

One of the most notorious examples are the influencers, which in the opinion of our expert are nothing more than propaganda. “They will invite you to buy, reserve and eat whatever they are eating, without any personal responsibility involved. Before you bite into another unicorn sandwich or whatever, make sure you can afford it. Pursuing certain lifestyles, just to show others that you can stay fashionable, is incredibly dangerous”, our expert is convinced.

Taylor Swift and the budget

“I’m Swiftie, so this is a bit biased,” Anna Rosak laughs, then continues in a more serious tone, “Taylor Swift knows how to manage her finances. Swift has property worth more than $81 million across the United States, but at the same time, she’s had the same conference table since she was 17!”

Anna realizes that having so many mansions isn’t unusual with the budget Swift has at her disposal, but it’s the table that fascinates her. Alexandra noted how Swift is incredibly careful about what she spends her money on and doesn’t replace things that work perfectly fine.

“In the everlasting search for the new and the best, we have to put responsible personal finance first. Do you really need 17 pairs of heels? Or 40 different sneakers? Unless you are a passionate collector and see them as an investment, you are better off concentrating on more lasting things in life: a pension fund, real estate, insurance, or even a table that will last for decades,” Annaj suggests.

Melissa McCarthy and the power of bargaining

Making it big in Hollywood isn’t easy, and when you don’t fit the tall blonde guy, even more so. Despite all the obstacles, comedian Melissa McCarthy managed to become an A-lister thanks to negotiation. That’s a perfect representation of the phrase “It never hurts to ask.” Well, in Melissa’s case, she certainly didn’t hurt!

“Sometimes all you have to do is ask. Ask your boss to get that raise before you agree to an additional workload. Ask your operator for a better offer, or your favorite store for a loyalty discount. The worst that can happen is getting a “no.” In that case, you have to rethink what you are doing and make some decisions. It doesn’t have to be anything radical, but it can also teach you to say “no”,’ concludes our expert.
